Hi Flux.tf Community,

I have been reviewing the overall traction and popularity of our current servers. Deathrun is one of most unvisited servers. Therefore I am in favour of replacing that gamemode with something new, and hopefully exciting.

I am seeking honest and constructive input from everyone. This will not be a rushed process. Feel free to suggest a type of gamemode that you feel would be a benefiting factor to the growth of the community (i.e. PropHunt just as an example).

After ideas are gathered we can create an official poll and go from there.

I'd suggest Slender but with the latest plugins just like the ones used in Glubable, maybe even if Noodl wishes to, add new enhanced plugins ; Gungame but with a wide variety of sets of weapons that change upon map change or voting ; in my opinions its the enhancements that are made to the mod that make players come back and not the mod itself , when i first discovered Glubable's Slender i was addicted to it even though i played Slender Fortress years ago , same with Flux DB , when i found out about how different the rocket's physics are i started enjoying it and playing it daily.
The targeted base of players have played the majority if not all of tf2's gamemodes ; so since we can't create a new game mode due to lack of ideas perhaps ,i see the best idea as putting a lot of effort into enhancing an already existing gamemode and not just adding it , i believe if its done in the right way ,many players will find it appealing thus an increase in Flux's players.

I probably say Slender aswell I would honestly love to play it with a few flux members on discord it could be really fun

A regular 12v12 server with rotating maps maybe? Like casual but on a community server with rtv and stuff and no random crits.

I believe that most of Glubbable's server stuff is private. Hence is being the most popular. That may have changed since I last looked into SF2.

I'm open to making improvements to gungame. I did have big plans for it, but broken friendly fire made it incredibly inconsistent I decided not to push it. I also had a working One in the Chamber plugin, but the spawn system needed a little work.

I believe the current Parkour Fortress is also private, meaning either mode would require considerable work.

It's also worth mentioning that niche gamemodes like GunGame, Virus, Prophunt etc, are rarely well populated.

What about TF2Ware? I know that was pretty popular some many years ago.

Without additional changes they'd morning to differentiate it from other servers. Same again with people not really playing those gamemodes.

On Blueprint I had a gamemode rotation server of small plugin modes like instagib, glass attack, gungame etc that loaded what it needed each map.

This would probably be the most viable thing to add imo. I recently watched a clip online explaining the gamemode. Seems pretty intuitive and there is a good variety of maps to choose from.

Which one of the two is more do-able for you?

If you mean One in the Chamber, it highly depends upon the map's navmeshes currently, which I use for determining random spawns. Problems arise when I would often be spawned in fences and props. The game itself worked fine, but the spawns weren't perfect.

GunGame is my plugin already, so is very easy for me to change. However it won't become FF enabled. OitC's random spawns is the best thing that could happen to it.

Would we be able to do a test sometime for GunGame? I think it could potentially draw in more players.
