- Have you been an admin before and where?
I used to be moderator on a small Minecraft server, until I stopped playing MC. I usually sorted out the servers and abusing players.
I have also hosted servers that I have played with my friends and I have held servers for people wanting to play privately, who don't know how to do it themselves.
- What servers are you primarily applying for?
I am primarily applying for Deathrun as I play that the most. I feel that the DR servers need the most attention from staff as there is always someone cheating, spamming, being offensive or speaking in voice chat in a foreign language. I am also applying for Jailbreak, but too many admins go on there, maybe they think it's fun, I know for a fact that I do. Although I am applying for these servers, I would be visiting others to enforce rules and most of all, to check that the players are having pleasant experiences. If they weren't, they wouldn't come back, and I think flux.tf is worthy of new people to grow the community.
- Which admins (if any) do you know?
I don't know any admins personally but I am friends with ImpossibleZ on Steam. I am also friends with Razertex and SWIGGY on Steam but both of them have resigned, so they're not really admins. I know zblock or whatever his name is now, he stole my joke, Kat0150 is the nicest admin I've met, I normally see Engie around on DR and JB, I see most of the staff on JB and a few others like HipsterMelon pop in DR every now and again. So in conclusion, I know people, but they may not know me.
- Are you familiar with the admin role and commands? ie - what is expected of you
I am aware of what is expected of me, such as: be mature, have a positive attitude, be reasonable, don't get on people's bad side and DON'T the abuse admin position.
I know a large sum of the commands and how to use them, here are the most commonly used one and what they do:
-sm_admin ; shows the admin menu.
-sm_ban ; bans the desired player.
-sm_cancelvote ; self-explanatory, cancel an ongoing vote. This is useful for preventing immature votekicks, voteslays, votegags and votemutes that donors do.
-sm_kick ; kicks the desired player.
-sm_slay ; kills the desired player.
-sm_gag ; prevents the desired player from tying in chat.
-sm_mute ; similar to gag, though it prevents them from using voice chat.
-sm_silence ; gags and mutes a target.
-sm_unsilence ; disables the mute and gag simultaneously, probably more useful than doing sm_unmute and sm_ungag individually.
-sm_csay ; displays a centered message than shows on every players screen, useful for getting peoples' attention.
Fun / Humour Commands
-sm_slap ; slaps a targeted player
-sm_vote ; makes a vote for the server, which the user of the command created.
-sm_votegravity ; lets the players choose what gravity they want to play on, this can be dangerous if they do not vote back to the original gravity.
-sm_beacon ; creates a beacon, like the one in RTD.
Obviously I will try to learn the rest of the commands, but I think that these are the most needed ones.
- Why would you be a good addition to the servers as an administrator?
I believe that I will be a good addition to the servers, and the team, as I can ensure that the rules are being followed due to what I previously stated, that I get frustrated at people speaking in another language, regardless of the rules saying not to. {EDIT} I am not certain, but maybe the rules are still in English and not their native language. I also like to have fun so hopefully, I could brighten somebody's day and cheer them up.
- Give us a brief rundown of punishments you'd give out to users breaking different rules.
General servers
-Player disrespect (racism, or something unreasonably offensive) - First time: Warning, Second time: Forewarning of what will happen if they continue, Third time: silenced for 15 minutes, If it happens again, 30 minutes, doubling each time until they learn.
-Spam (Microphone or Chat) - First time: Request for them to stop, Second time: silenced for 60 seconds, After being unsilenced and they continue, silenced for 15 minutes, if they still don't stop, 15 minutes each time.
-Hacking - Permanent ban if I personally see it happen.
-Cheating (via exploits etc) - Request them to stop, if they do not comply, kicked, if they return and carry on, ban for 15 - 30 minutes depending on the severity of the cheating.
-Foreign language in voice chat - I will try to track down what language they are speaking and tell them in their language not to speak in voice chat. If they ignore my request, I will mute them for 24 hours.
Jailbreak servers
-Freekilling - Request them to slay themselves, if they don't, they get slayed. If they continue to freekill, teamban for a day.
-Mass freekilling - Permanent teamban.
-No mic on Blu team - Permanent teamban, if I later find out that they have a microphone, it will be removed.
- Anything else you'd like to add - maybe a bit about yourself, ie - interests, hobbies, education, etc etc
I am a very friendly person, I'm passive and I'm easy to get along with.
I am currently in high school, and I am - not to brag - doing exceedingly well with all of my subjects, call me a knowitall, because I am.
I like TV shows like The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, American Dad and South Park. I am quite sporty and my favourite sports are football (soccer), baseball, rounders, dodge ball and volleyball. My favourite artist is Logic, as his songs are meaningful and extremely powerful.
I have been a member of the flux community for a while. I remember is playing with Razertex on dr_supermario64 and he said that the first person to jump into the water, gets a hat but because I was friends with him on Steam, he gave it to JanKones. I also remember Neuro playing on r60dfinal and he was on the other side of the vanishing platforms and he kept getting people killed by stepping on the last one. I remember when someone recently became an admin, I think it was Aubble, and they enabled the votegravity and they didn't know which was the default so we had to do trial and error until we got the right one.
I have a microphone, but I prefer to stay back and try not to be the most important one on the server.
I am not too fussed whether I get admin role or not, I just thought it was worth a try!
