A serial killer had a practice where he kidnapped his victims and give them a glass of water and two pills

The killer told them :
One was harmless,
One was poisoness

Whatever pill the victim took, the serial killer took the other one

Contintiously, victims took their pills with water and died.
The killer repeatedly survived

How did he always get the harmless pill?

I assume the part of the captain being Japanese is important, then I realised that the flag of Japan is white with a red circle in the middle. Thus, you cant turn the flag the right way up, as it is the same whatever way up it is.So, it was Suspect 2 who killed the captain.

Once there was a prisoner, he was locked up in HMP Thameside. This certain prisoner was put on death row for treason against her Majesty Queen Victoria. Now, the judge wanted the execution of said prisoner to be a surprise, however gave a specific week for the prisoners information. He can only be executed from Monday to Friday.The execution week will be the week starting 8th February 1897. When should the judge give the decree for the prisoner to be executed, so the prisoner is surprised
